On June 1st, family and friends gathered to celebrate the baptism of sweet Marcos Stefanos, a day filled with faith, tradition, and joy. The ceremony took place at the beautiful Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church at 841 Ridge Boulevard, where warm sunlight streamed through stained glass and the sound of sacred hymns embraced everyone in attendance.
Proud parents Athina and Leonidas stood close to their one-year-old son as he was welcomed into the Christian faith. The moment was tender and emotional — a milestone not just for Marcos, but for the entire family.
Reception at “Above” – Hilton Garden Inn, Staten Island
Following the sacred service, the celebration continued at “Above”, the stunning rooftop venue at the Hilton Garden Inn on 1100 South Avenue. With sweeping views of Staten Island and the city beyond, guests were treated to a night that perfectly blended elegance with Greek warmth and hospitality.
The room sparkled with soft lighting and laughter. The centerpiece of the evening was a striking nautical-themed cake, adorned with golden accents, coiled sugar ropes, and an anchor — a symbol of strength, stability, and the journey ahead for young Marcos.
Dancing Into the Night
No Greek celebration is complete without dancing, and this night was no exception. The sounds of DJ @Privilegeevents filled the room, and soon guests joined hands for the traditional Sirtaki dance, weaving through the floor in joyful steps that grew faster with each beat. The circle of dancers reflected the unity of family and friends, all gathered to honor this special day.
